Maria Menounos

Maria discovered that she had an individual health issue as she was caring for her mother with stages 4 brain tumors. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. She told PEOPLE that she had been suffering from headaches and lightheadedness since February 2014. "My speech became disorganized. Also, I had difficulty using the Teleprompter." An MRI confirmed Menounos to be suffering from a massive meningioma brain tumour which was growing to the size of a golf ball. It was pressing on the facial nerves. Menounos booked an appointment with her mom's physician, famous surgeon Dr. Keith L. Black who scheduled the surgery for June 8th, her 39th birthday. She says that he said, "I am 98 percent certain it is benign, but we will not know until we go into the," Dr. Black managed to eliminate 99.9 percent of benign tumors through a operation that took seven hours. According Dr. Black, there is a 6-7 percent chance of it coming back. But I will take these odds any day. Menounos has been home since an inpatient stay of six days. Menounos is recuperating and spending moments with Litsa, her mother. Litsa's last MRI confirms she's healthy and free from cancer. Maria Maria Maria
